While we’re still on a heavy lockdown here in Manhattan and can only offer basic treatments at present, we would like to encourage anyone who needs further assistance to venture to our Springfield NJ location. We are very happy to announce our new acupuncturist there, David Dias who will be working there Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
David was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He went to Kean University and spent the first years of his working life as a physical therapist assistant. Through his experiences of this, he decided to return to college and continue his studies in the acupuncture field, attending Eastern Acupuncture School in Boomfield.
His experiences and education means he is a perfect fit within our collaborative care practice as acupuncture can be used as a stand alone treatment or alongside other treatments such as chiropractic, physical therapy and more.
Acupuncture deals with needles being placed at specific areas of the body, near nerve endings. The introduction of these sterilized needles sparks the body’s natural pain reliving endorphins into action, relieving the patient from pain. Often the effects are felt immediately, but depending on the specific patient’s issues, several treatments may be required to return the patient to normal.
David’s expertise in the field will help our patients to find relief and he will be involved in many patient decisions as to best treatment practices given a patient condition and problem. His knowledge in overall body function and treatment will be an asset to all at Back and Body, staff and patients alike.
Acupuncture is a treatment that is covered by insurance and we accept most insurance plans with the exception of GHI. If you are unsure whether your insurance plan does cover you, please call us and we can help to work this out.
So, David is at our Springfield New Jersey practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to offer acupuncture services, but don’t forget, we have a multitude of other pain relieving services including chiropractic, physical therapy, cold laser therapy, medical massage, spinal decompression therapy and more. At present in our New York office, just physical therapy and chiropractic is currently being offered due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, but all are available in New Jersey.
