Here’s a little summary of what each treatment does and how it may help you. Understanding what Back and Body New York offers can help both you and us come to a decision on what treatment is best for your needs.
Chiropractic:
Chiropractic care is a non invasive treatment that can be used to treat back, neck, joint, and head pain. Chiropractic adjustments are used to ease back pain, which we call spinal manipulation. Patients usually receive immediate relief after their first adjustment. This is perfect for all ages.
Physical Therapy:
Physical Therapy is a perfect treatment for those who have specific injuries, like athletes, dancers, or work related problems. Our physical therapists will use a wide variety of techniques to help treat a patient’s pain, and will assign at home exercises for a patient to perform.
ART:
Active Release Technique is comprised of a non-invasive soft tissue system which combines medical massage and patient movements to identify and lessen or rid of scar tissue that has resulted from overuse.
Cold Laser Therapy:
This treatment uses lasers directly on or over the affected area. This stimulates tissue repair and growth, which has the ability to reduce pain and inflammation while accelerating healing. Cold laser treatment works best on joint injuries.
Custom Rehab Programs:
A custom rehabilitation program under the guidance of a physical therapist is great for patients who are recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. It is tailored for the specific patient.
Custom Stretching Programs:
Like custom rehab programs, a tailored stretching program can help restore strength and mobility, aid and accelerate healing, and reduce tension, pain, and stress.
Electric Stimulation:
This is sometimes referred to as a TENS unit. Pads with electrolytes are placed on the skin that direct a controlled electrical current through the body. This replicates the electrical impulses that that occur in the body during movement or exercise.
Graston Technique:
This treatment is a manual therapy used to mobilize soft tissue. A stainless steel instrument made for that specific part of the body is used to access deeper restrictions.
