7 Ways to Ease Your Back Pain Without Painkillers

water, healthy food and weights

Many hours sitting at the computer desk, a lack of exercise and poor nutrition is a general problem for so many of us. No wonder we get back pain!

The easiest way is just to take that painkiller, but how about changing your lifestyle? Making good decisions in your life matters.

Here we have found some useful tips and advice for you.

Do Some Exercise for Your Core Muscles

A strong core keeps your body stable. Choose pilates or yoga exercises. Both are mind-body workouts and do wonders for your core muscles. You can do it from home, or even at your desk (but we recommend…get away from that screen!).

Drink Plenty of Water

The human body is composed of approximately 70 % of water (isn’t that amazing?). Water brings refreshment to your whole body. Dehydration can cause pain and stiffness. When possible, try to drink up to 2 liters (6 to 7 glasses) of water per day.

Eat Healthy

We all know it’s essential to eat healthy foods. Certain food groups cause inflammation.

May your food regime include a lot of fruits and vegetables, whole grain, nuts and seeds, and legumes. Also some herbal remedies, such as herbal teas and ginger can be helpful.

Avoid too much caffeine and processed foods.

Reduce Inflammation

To reduce inflammation, magnesium can help. Magnesium supports muscle function. Either taken directly from food or as a supplement, both will work. It will also give you extra energy and fight the fatigue.

Vitamin C protects against free radical damage that can lead to inflammation and pain. Eat your fruits and veggies! You can also take supplements.

Omega 3s are good for reducing pain and inflammation. Have some fish few times per week and some seeds. And take a good supplement.

Sleep in Proper Position

When sleeping, keep your spine in alignment. It’s best to sleep on your side. Put a small pillow under your neck.

Lose Some Extra Weight

Having extra pounds puts unnecessary stress on your whole body. Exercise more and reduce the amount of food you daily eat. You will feel so much better!
