It’s no secret that the USA has issues when it comes to the provision of affordable health care for all its citizens. Without getting into the political mechanics of this reality, it’s clear that reform is needed.
One of the most effective measures patients can take to reduce their health care costs is to adjust their lifestyles to be healthier. Lifestyle changes like eating more nutritionally-sound foods and increasing activity levels are two actions people can take to avoid falling ill.
But sometimes life happens. If you’re in pain, all you’re thinking about is ridding yourself of it. Some believe that the only answer is surgery, but that’s simply not the case. In fact, developing a healthy relationship with providers of conservative treatments for pain (like chiropractors) is a preventative measure which can ease strain on a burdened system.
NYC chiropractor helps avoid surgery.
Yes, readers. I am that guy!
Working with the team of multi-disciplinarian clinicians at Back & Body in Manhattan, I’ve helped my patients avoid surgery by working with them to alleviate pain. Because chiropractic is a discipline which addresses the whole person and engages patients in healing, I go beyond manipulation and adjustment.
I develop partnerships with my patients which empower them to take their wellness in their own hands. Counselling changes in lifestyle which include education about body mechanics, posture and muscle strength, I’ve helped many of my patients avoid surgery for back and neck pain.
Drugs aren’t the answer.
If you’re paying attention, you know that the USA is facing an opioid crisis. Whether prescribed, sold on the black market, or made in an illegal pill press, opioids are having a devastating effect on public health. These pain killing agents are highly-addictive and often prescribed indiscriminately.
The answer to pain is healthcare that works. In my practice, I address the underlying cause of pain. I don’t counsel masking it with harmful drug therapies – especially opioids. When pain is masked in a fog of opioid-induced pain “relief”, the effect can lead patients to believe the problem’s no longer there. This can make matters worse.
Under the illusion that the pain isn’t “there” anymore, patients will often engage in activities which exacerbate the root cause of pain. This means they need increasing amounts of the painkillers involved to address the pain, leading to addiction.
I became a chiropractor because I wanted to help people in pain. And that’s what I do. People come to me with pinched nerves, chronic migraines, herniated discs and numerous other pain-inducing conditions. By identifying the cause of the pain and then treating it with clinical precision, I’m able to offer relief. Beyond that, I’m able to offer patients insight into how to prevent pain from returning.
A lot of what I do is inspiring my patients to live healthier lives by having stronger, more pain and disease resistant bodies. I can do the same for you.
