In the meantime, try these tips (which are also good for anyone struggling for sleep or not).

Keep the temperature of your bedroom around 68F so you don’t wake with a sweat.

Take a warm shower or bath before bedtime.

No heavy meals before you go to bed. No alcohol or caffeine either.

Leave your phone downstairs or out of your bedroom.

Try and sleep in the fetal position. Do not sleep on your stomach. If you have a tendency to sleep on your stomach, then wear a sleep vest with a tennis ball on the front which should help you not sleep on your stomach.

Get a mattress that is suited to you. For most people, a medium to firm mattress works best, but whatever works for you. Also pillows are very important. There’s a bunch of different pillows to choose from including feathers, memory foam, polyester, or what about cube pillows?

Keeping a regular routine for bed, going to bed and getting up at the same time each day certainly can help.

But if you are still struggling despite all of the above, the time has come to come in and see us. Let our collaborative care help get you back to where you need to be, both in lifestyle and in sleep.
