Been a tricky year so far, hasn’t it? While there have been some great difficulties in life over the past several months, there has also been some amazing thinking and the way people and businesses has adapted to things has been incredible. It’s so easy to look at the negative and forget the good things that have happened.
And that’s what we must all do, particularly at this time of year. Some outside the box thinking along with some humility and real thoughts for others can make this season even more magical than normal. I think that’s what we must take away from this. Whatever your thoughts on the pandemic, it is here and we have to deal with it the best way and as this is the season to be giving, maybe we can give even more thought and help to others than normal.
For example, we normally run a donation drive to Toys for Tots, a charity geared to helping young children get gifts for Christmas. Normally we would run a scheme where a patient brings a toy in and we would match it. With things the way they are, we felt this wouldn’t be a good idea this year and so instead are running a monetary donation. All patients need to do is to check in on Facebook when they come in for their appointment and we’ll donate $1 to the charity. It’s simple and it gets help without even having to worry about physical issues with toys coming in etc.
So that’s just one way, what else can we do to make this season special?
Well with our own immediate families, perhaps we can spend more quality time with them? We always push exercise here at Back and Body, so why not exercise together as a family? Or take walks together. Getting outside and burning up some energy are great ways to feel good.
Another thing you can do is to share holiday recipes with friends and family. This season will already be unlike any you have experienced before, so why not try new recipes for holiday cooking?
Secret Santa might be something you like to do with friends or colleagues. This year, try a virtual Secret Santa. Yep, it’s a thing and you can learn how to do it here. Again, it’s thinking outside the box and something maybe a little different.
Whatever you do decide to do, we hope you have a safe and happy time. Don’t forget to share your ideas as well. We’re all in this together and if you have a great idea, why not share it with others too?
Remember though, if you’re in pain, we are here for you too. Give us a call or schedule an appointment and we will help you out of pain.
