Pain relief is our goal at Back and Body Medical and with have many treatment solutions for chronic pain. Pain is that nasty sensation that our brain receives as high intense stimuli on a part of our body. It’s there to tell us to pull back from what’s causing the sensation or telling us there’s something seriously wrong (an injury, accident or similar). It occurs through the activation of nociceptors.
We have treated many pain conditions over the years and helped patients to return to their work, sports and lifestyles that they want to enjoy. At Back and Body we employ many treatment solutions for chronic pain along with doctors and therapists alike. We’re going to look at six of our most popular treatment options over the course of two posts, this being the first.
Treatment Solutions for Chronic Pain
Solution 1 – Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care is an evidence based treatment solution that has been practiced for over a century. The word comes from the Greek, praktikos, meaning done by hand. Through a series of specific protocols, primarily on the spine from lower back to neck, it deals with breaking up scar tissue, decompressing joints and reducing inflammation and thus pain.
Fun fact, “popping” or “cracking” of joints may be heard, although contrary to popular belief, those sounds are not actually bones cracking, they are gas bubbles that pop when put under intense compression through the act of chiropractic. This is why you will only hear the pops once and have to wait a while before the gas reforms to be popped again.

Solution 2 – Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists are on hand to help you to rehabilitate from your injury and to stretch out limbs in a controlled manner. Depending on your injury, our therapists will assign specific stretches and exercises to do with you in our gym and then for you to do at home normally on a daily basis. The consistent therapy we do with you and you do on your own forms a strong platform for your body to heal and rehabilitate so you get well again faster.

Solution 3 – Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy is a non invasive, FDA approved treatment with little to no contraindications. Using cold laser equipment, specific settings and frequencies are applied to the afflicted area with the goals of reducing inflammation and enhancing healing of soft tissues. It is a very powerful treatment option which when utilized with other therapies can accelerate healing and get you back to proper function and fitness.
