January 29th, 2018 – The team at Back and Body Medical is so excited for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang, South Korea. We are particularly excited for the sliding sports. Dr. Perna was a Sports Medicine staff volunteer this fall as the sliding athletes (Bobsleigh, Skeleton and Luge) prepared for this year’s Winter Olympics. For many of the athletes, this was their final at home training at the United States Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York. After that time many went over to Europe to continue their final training.
Several of the athletes were so pleased with Dr. Perna’s work with them that when the athletes were in New York City for publicity events they took time from their busy training schedule to stop in Back And Body Medical for some additional recovery work with Dr. Perna and the team.
Dr. Perna became friends with many of the athletes while he worked in Lake Placid and hopes that when you watch the winter Olympics this year you help him cheer on these athletes. He has said all the athletes up in Lake Placid were extremely grateful to all those who assisted in their preparation and were very friendly in sharing in their training experience. To assist in knowing when the sliding sports occur we have put together this information.
